Gabriel has nearly 20 years of recruiting experience in Japan and Asia, specializing in leadership search. He led Executive Recruiting, APAC at Uber, building its regional executive search practice and hiring 100+ leaders across business lines. Before Uber, he was a Director at RGF Executive Search, where he launched an award-winning Digital Media & Technology practice.
Michael Christie
Founding Partner
Michael has over a decade of executive recruiting experience in Asia-Pacific. Before co-founding Conduit, he was a core member of Uber’s Executive Recruiting team, helping build the leadership foundation that supported the company’s rapid regional expansion. Earlier, at RGF Executive Search, he partnered with Gabriel to grow their award-winning Digital Media and Technology practice.
Our Journey
2014
Gabriel and Michael's professional partnership began at RGF Executive Search, a leading Tokyo firm, where their shared search philosophies fueled several successful collaborations with forward-thinking companies.
Their award-winning practice helped some of the most innovative companies launch thriving businesses in Japan.
2019
100+ executives. 10 countries. All of Uber’s business lines and functions. They oversaw the hiring of all executive leaders enabling Uber’s growth across its Asia business portfolio.
2019 - 2024
With a high profile IPO on the horizon, Uber had aspirations to expand globally and unlock Asia. Gabriel and Michael joined Uber with the mission to build an in-house executive search function that would fuel the company’s ambitious growth in the region.
Today
We founded Conduit to bridge the divide between in-house and agency hiring practices. Conduit is our iteration of an executive search firm, where collaboration and understanding are the focal point.
